Make someone’s ordinary day special with beautiful baby chick note cards!

In 2013, after my husband and I moved from the suburbs of Austin further out in the "country", I reconnected with a dream to raise chickens. So shortly after we moved in we built our first chicken coop and bought 12 pullets.  I initially said, "I'll never get chicks, just pullets." then, "I'll never get a rooster!" and the best one, "I'll never hatch my own chicks". You know the expression "never say never?" Well, as our adventure with chickens has evolved, we have experienced all of those things and more!

After falling in love with the baby chicks and noticing their unique personalities, the next thing to do was to photograph them. We're happy to share our babies with you on these notecards and hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

At Five Oak Ranch, baby chickens hatch and become the stars of photo note cards. Who says baby chicks need to limit themselves to the chicken coop? Not ours. Anyone who raises chickens knows that each one has its own personality which shows itself even at such a young age. Some are independent and some prefer a friend or the whole flock. Some like to be out in nature sitting among flowers, cactus or Texas Bluebonnets. Some chicks are party animals from the beginning and some prefer a more laid-back western lifestyle. Some even don't mind wearing a hat or two! 

Each of our note cards reflects the personality of the chick and is designed to make you and the recipient of your card smile. Oh, and a few goats wanted in on the action so we photographed them as well.
